What it's all about

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is known as “the gentle art” using leverage and timing rather than brute strength to overcome opponents. It’s one of the most effective martial arts for self-defence and a key foundation of modern MMA. Our BJJ program blends traditional technical teaching with modern competitive styles, giving you the best of both worlds: respect for the art and readiness for the mat.

Why train here?

At NGMA you’re not just joining a class, you’re joining a team. Our community is built on mutual respect, support, and shared goals. You’ll train alongside people of all levels, from beginners to active competitors. We offer Gi and No-Gi classes throughout the week, with sessions running early mornings, lunchtimes, evenings, and weekends so you can always find time to train. Grappling is not only an incredible skill on its own but also an essential part of mixed martial arts (MMA), helping you become more confident and adaptable in every range of combat.

THE BEST PLACE TO START

Your first session

New to martial arts? No problem. Your first class includes a warm-up, partner drills, and live rolling. Wear comfortable gym clothing and bring a bottle of water. We have equipment you can borrow for your first class, and once you’re ready, we sell everything you’ll need to get started. We strongly recommend that if you have no previous martial arts experience, you start with our Beginners Gi or NoGi class. It’s designed to give you the fundamentals in a friendly, supportive setting before you join the main sessions.

Just turn up, listen, and enjoy.
